Do beliefs really matter?

With so many worship options available any day of the week, does it really matter what church I go to? Simple answer is YES! If it did not matter what you believe in, then there would be no reason to study the Bible and any church would be fine. However, the Word of God is the standard we are to follow, for all are inspired by God and chosen by the Spirit. (2 Tim 3:16-17, 1 Cor 2:9-13). So what the Bible tells us, is what we are to do. And as we find in Ephesians 4, there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, there is a right way to follow God. We also have many examples of man who tried to change what God wanted, and they did not fair well. Cain and his unacceptable offering (Gen 4:3-5), Nadab and Abihu's strange fire (Lev 10:1-2), Ananias and Sapphira's lying to the Spirit (Acts 5:1-10) name just a few. We also know we cannot change God's Word. Revelations 18:18-19, Galatians 1:9, and Deuteronomy 4:2 each tell us that we cannot change what God's Word is and if man tries, then he is wrong. Always keep studying the Word and if you have questions, ask! Because that is how we each learn and grow in God.
